The FX Nano provides a summation signal that extends the lower size limit of the sensor below the standard FX sensor. Classically one of the limiting factors in the lower size limit of single particle analyzers was the need to find diluents that were clean enough so that they did not add or make up most of the background counts of the sample that was being analyzed. The tremendous increase in particle levels with the FX sensors makes it easier to achieve lower sizes where background count levels are no longer a concern. In the past a few thousand counts in the background would cause great concern but now with concentrations exceeding 10 million a few thousand background counts do not affect the overall distribution. This becomes critical when looking at nano-particles below 0.5 microns. With the current environment of laboratory consolidation and reduction of personnel it has become paramount to quality control laboratories to automate their sample analysis procedures. The Autosampler provides a solution to this problem it allows our customers to load a tray of up to 15 samples with a built in was station for sequential batch analysis. The Autosampler comes with a built in magnetic stirring station for sample prep and for those with metal or magnetic particles it can be fitted with an optional mechanical stirrer. It has a built in liquid flow spoiler to ensure adequate mixing within the sample cups. A 16th station is used for rinsing the system and washing the sip tube between sample runs. It also has the capacity to incorporate a sonic probe for further de-agglomeration of the samples during a preparatory stage. It comes with a standard 16 position tray (125 mL sample vials) or can be upgraded to a 24 position tray (50 mL sample vials). Multiple trays can be purchased and pre-loaded for increased sample throughput. |
