CORPORATE DESCRIPTION
Since our inception in
1978 we have been
providing leading edge
instrumentation for
the field of particle
size analysis. We are
an applications driven
company that provides
solutions to our
customer's most
complex particle
sizing and zeta
potential monitoring
problems. From wet to
dry, online to
research laboratory we
have engineered a
compete family of
modular designed
instruments that can
be configured to meet
the specific demands
of an application.
MARKETS SERVED
Particle Size Analysis
and Zeta Potential
Monitoring lends
itself to many
different applications
and fields. Particle
size plays an
important role in a
wide variety of fields
as varied as soft
drink emulsions to
semiconductor CMP
(chemical mechanical
planarization)
applications. Often
the proper measurement
/ information can have
a direct impact on the
bottom line of million
dollar companies. Our
modular design
platform allows us to
match our capability
modules to the needs
of our customers'
applications saving
them time and money.

MAJOR PRODUCTS
PSS has 4 major product lines covering particle size applications.
The Nicomp 380 utilizes the theory of dynamic light scattering to determine the particle size of submicron distributions. This product group consists of a core DSP based correlator with a set of proprietary mathematical algorithms that produce the highest resolution particle size distributions in its class. It is coupled to an extensive list of modular components including a patented Autodilution module, various laser / detector modules, and a host of sampling capabilities fit anything from online to research laboratory applications.
The Nicomp ZLS utilizes the same core instrument but adds several components to make it possible to also monitor zeta potential of mostly submicron distributions. This instrument line is not only capable of producing the same high resolution results found on the Nicomp 380 line but can also provide zeta potential information which focuses on the stability of dispersions. It is also coupled to an extensive list of modular components from an Auto-Titrator to patented dilution module, which allows the instrument to be matched to the customers application needs.
The AccuSizer product line utilizes the theory of single particle light extinction to count and size particles one at a time from submicron to supra-micron sizes. This technology offers unprecedented resolution, sensitivity, and range unmatched by any device in its class. From a patented sensor design to patented fluidics modules it offers our customers information that previously could not be obtained by other particle size analyzers. It can operate in both wet and dry conditions and has a host of modular components to meet the most demanding needs of our customers.
The New AccuSizer FX has taken the same basic technology that is used by the AccuSizer product line and incorporated a patented optical design that allows for much higher concentration sizing and counting. This instrument was designed particularly for a niche market of looking at tails of mostly submicron distributions, including colloidal dispersions, emulsions and CMP slurries.
