Occhio Alpaga 500 Nano Features:

ALPAGA 500 NANO

The Alpaga 500 Nano provides high quality images with true resolution of less than 500 nanometers. The system was engineered to eliminate the diffraction rings normally seen by other analyzers, which results in clear precise particle outlines. This results in high-resolution images where particles as small as 500 nanometers can quickly be characterized.

Features:

-Particle Size Range 0.5 – 2,500 microns
-Statistically valid sample measurements in less than 2 minutes
-User defined particle count threshold from one to millions of particles can be imaged.
-Raw data for each individual particle is stored and utilized in particle computations.
-Real time data archiving of full high-resolution particle scans.
-The system provides results for 16 different particle shape parameters; Sieve-Size, Width, Height, Equivalent Diameter, Roundness, Roughness, Elongation, Convexity, Reactivity, Crystallinity, Hole Detection, Volume, Area, Perimeter, Shape Factor, and Specific Surface

Image Acquisition

-The Alpaga 500 employs a 1392 x 1040 square pixel high-resolution camera with sensitivity of 0.3 lux.
-Monochromatic ultra-violet backlighting eliminates diffraction pattern interference.
-A collimated light and telecentric lens increases the quality of the particle outlines.
-Based on these features the Alpaga 500 can quickly determine the particle outline and shape with a clear sharp focal contrast between the particle and the background.
-By incorporating a high pixel gray-scale gradient the particle thresholds can be accurately defined.
-A high speed shutter up to 1/200,000 of a second eliminates vibration problems.
-A fixed camera and light source reduce maintenance costs and increases the life span of the unit.

VDD 270 Vacuum Disperser Device

This patented dispersing module can disperse an aggregated dry powder sample into millions of individual grains of powder utilizing a gentle vacuum disperser (0.1 – 0.9 bar). These individual grains are then deposited on a disposable glass slide that can be analyzed with the Alpaga 500 Image Analysis System. All consumables are manufactured in a class 100 clean room eliminating external contamination, which may lead to measurement artifacts. Although the VDD 270 was designed as an integral part of the Alpaga 500 Image Analysis System or it can be purchased as a standalone disperser for use with other particle sizing devices.

VDD 270 Disperser Features

-Samples as small as 0.1 mg can be prepared for analysis.
-Gentle vacuum dispersion technology will not damage fragile samples.
-The stainless steel dispersing chamber can easily be disassembled and reassembled from cleaning between measurements.
-A cylindrical vacuum chamber provides a radial force pattern that enhances the natural sedimentation of the particles on the glass slide.
